All applicants for licensure are required to pass the Kentucky jurisprudence examination commonly referred to the Law Exam. The Law Examination is proctored for those applicants for licensure who have substantially completed the application process.
The law exam is usually administered in the latter part of June to accommodate the new graduates. If you need to be licensed prior to or after that date, you can contact the Board office by email optometry@ky.gov or call (502) 234-2114 to schedule a time once you have submitted an application and all supporting documentation.
(IMPORTANT: Completed applications with all required documents and fees must be submitted prior to sitting for the exam.)
